New Faculty Institute Preview
The New Faculty Institute focuses on the teaching culture of Chemeketa Community College. Each Fall, new full-time faculty participate in this one and one-half day New Faculty Institute prior to the College's Fall Inservice activities. The Institute is designed to:
  • introduce new faculty to the teaching side of Chemeketa,
  • provide new faculty with new ideas about teaching and learning,
  • answer quesitons about teaching at Chemeketa,
  • provide support for new faculty during their first year at Chemeketa as a full-time faculty member, and
  • to build relatoinships with other new faculty members and Chemeketa faculty.

The following outline is a working schedule and is subject to change. It will give you an overview of the two-days of activities. Full participation is expected.

Day One: 8:15AM - 4:00PM
8:15AM - Meet in the Opportunity Center; Building 9, Room 109 - Coffee and rolls provided.

  • Community College Teaching
  • Applying Chemeketa's Teaching and Learning Values
Lunch Provided
1:00PM:
  • Shaping Expectations with Your Syllabus
  • Assessments and Grading
  • Meeting with Executive Team and Other VIP's.

Day Two: 8:15AM - Noon
8:15AM - Meeting in Building 9, Room 104 - Coffee and rolls provided.
